The construction of the new Ogbomoso – Oyo dual carriageway is progressing at an impressive rate that less than a month after re-commencement of the project, the bush clearing and grading of the about 7km road stretch is almost complete. Work began concurrently at the two ends of the remaining section – Federal Government College axis and the Arinkinkin axis of Ogbomoso. And now the clearing work is within a short distance of each other. From the Federal Government College axis the clearing has reached Adebayo Alao-Akala Highway close to the Federal Low Cost Estate and from the other end it has almost reached there also, it’s very visible from afar.
“That’s an indication of the seriousness attached to the project,” a resident of Randa area, Mr. Adekunle Akande averred. “It is impressive, we can be sure work will not stop this time around. I commend the President Bola Tinubu government for this level of commitment.”
Ogbomoso Insight also observed at the Federal Government College axis that workers had begun road marking to determine the exact extent of the road and after this earthworks can really commence.

“The development has been giving people joy,” Mr. Akande added.
Senator Fatai Buhari, representing Oyo North senatorial district, in a radio interview monitored on Parrot FM on Tuesday assured the road would be completed in record time adding that afterwards there would be repair of the whole stretch of the road from Ogbomoso to Oyo covering the section already being used.

The road when completed is expected to bring relief as the old road has become dilapidated and too narrow for the volume of vehicular traffic on it particularly articulated vehicles otherwise known as trailers. The road has engendered many accidents claiming lives and properties and leaving several others maimed. “Its completion will be an answered prayer,” Akande further said.
