Land: Emulate Oloolo, Soun charges traditional rulers

The Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III has urged traditional rulers to take a cue from Oloolo of Oolo HRM Oba Michael Oyegbami Ajayi Oyebunmi IV regarding the way land is managed in their domains.
Recall OAKonsults Outreach Foundation is set to build an institution for children with special needs at Oolo for which the Oloolo gave 35 acres of land free.
The sod turning ceremony was performed Tuesday witnessed by many dignitaries.

“I want to express gratitude to Oloolo, what you have done this town will reap the benefits. Many royal fathers sit on lands, selling lands but you decided to give land free,” Oba Olaoye noted while speaking at the event.
“Your subjects will get jobs during construction and when the centre comes into operation. I want to charge our traditional rulers to emulate Oloolo on this. What you have done is uncommon among traditional rulers and you are bound to reap the benefits.”
Also in a Facebook post the paramount ruler wrote, “I wish to specially commend His Royal Majesty, Oba Michael Oyegbami, the Oloolo of Oolo, for his remarkable wisdom and selflessness,”
“At a time when many might opt to sell fertile lands dotted with cashew and mango trees for personal gain, Kabiyesi chose instead the path of legacy and long-term development.”
He further stressed the Oolo Oba’s gesture is strategic asserting it has the potential of stimulating development in the community through provision of employment during construction activities and after operations start.
“By making land available for strategic investment, he has laid the foundation for a project that will generate employment and unlock opportunities for the people of Oolo.”
The monarch added, “This is the calibre of leadership our towns desperately need. I call on other traditional rulers to draw inspiration from Oba Oyegbami’s foresight. Not every piece of land is meant for sale—some must be preserved as seeds for the future, to nourish the growth of our communities and ensure prosperity for generations yet unborn.”

He enjoined the people of Oolo to cooperate with the visioners of the project which he describes as unprecedented.
“To the good people of Oolo, I commend your support thus far, but let this only be the beginning. Stand behind the visionaries leading this transformative project. Make them feel welcomed, protected, and deeply valued. Let them never have cause to regret choosing your land. This initiative is the first of its kind in Nigeria, and it holds the potential to place Oolo firmly on the national map.
“I also extend heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has supported this noble cause. May your contributions yield enduring rewards.
“Let today mark the beginning of a new chapter—not just for Oolo, but for
the entirety of Ogbomosoland.”
