Ogbomoso Passport Office: Soun applauds committee

The Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, has commended the Building Committee of the Ogbomoso Passport Office of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) recently put up in Ogbomoso for “a job well done.”
According to statement signed by Rev’d Peter Olaleye the Special Assistant on Media and Community Relations to Oba Olaoye, the monarch gave the commendation when members of the committee paid a visit to the monarch to give the report of the work done so far.
Recall the Controller of the Oyo State Command of the NIS, Joseph Dada, inspected the facility last week during which he lauded the building as incredible.
While briefing the royal father, the committee led by Alhaji Monsur Ayoade Ejide, its chairman, said it was happy to fulfill its mission which was to raise funds and complete the project.
“The committee was set up by Ogbomoso Parapo in the year 2023 with a mandate to raise funds and to see the project to completion. So far, we have painted the entire building, we only delayed the installation of the pumping machine and the wiring because of security matters.
“We have told the controller of immigration to collaborate with us in securing the place while we are also doing everything possible to protect it. We need to inform Your Majesty that Baale Pakiotan was the one who gave us the land upon which we built the project and a prince of Soun gave us 10,000 blocks. A lot of Ogbomoso sons and daughters also donated funds to support the project.”
Responding, Oba Olaoye said, “I am really impressed with your work and by the quality of the project itself. Government’s projects do not finish in time, but for you to start and finish it within two years, it is impressive.

‘I drove through that area and I discovered that your committee has further placed Ogbomoso on the world map. It is commendable .”
Speaking further the Oba lauded other contributors who are not members of the committee describing them as wonderful.
“I need also to commend everyone who donated towards the completion of that project, you people are very wonderful.”
