A ghastly motor accident at Takie, Ogbomoso, Oyo state, Wednesday left about five people injured with about three other vehicles seriously damaged from the impact of the bus smashing into them at top speed.
ogbomosoinsightonline.com, which got to the scene of the accident shortly after it occurred was told by eyewitnesses that the bus with registration number OSUN RLG.97.ZY, laden with jerry cans of palm oil and kolanut and carrying passengers was coming from Ifon in Osun state, “but as it approached Takie from Okelerin direction I think its break failed forcing the driver to ram into a parked car (Mitsubishi -Ijaya), which went on to hit other two vehicles in front of the filling station,” an eyewitness said.
Continuing, the witness informed, “The ijaya, got damaged beyond repairs as the bus dragged it as it struggled to stop. It has however been towed away.”
It was further learnt that the doors to the bus were forced open, “the passenger sitting in the front sustained a deep cut in the head while some women behind had broken legs. But thank God nobody died.”
Spilled palm oil, baskets of.kolanut and broken windscreens littered the ground even as sympathizers milled round the scene.
The injured meanwhile had been taken to the hospital.
