Ahoro-Esinele: ‘Help free our people,” Omidan Ogbomoso Beauty Pageant launches campaign

The conveners of Omidan Ogbomoso Beauty Pageant has launched a campaign in solidarity with the victims of the Ahoro-Esinele/Yawota bandits’ attack last Friday which led to the killing of a teacher and a student and abduction of seven teachers and 39 children including pupils.

This has caused a national outrage but the abducted victims are yet to be released or rescued by security agents.

The Omidan Ogbomoso Beauty Pageant has thus joined in calling for a safe return of the victims.

It is to draw deeper attention to the grave occurrence, launching a campaign using the hashtag “Help free our people,” which they are urging Nigerians to circulate.

“As much as we commend the efforts of the government and security agencies concerning our beloved people being held hostage in the Yawota/Esiele bandits’ operations, we will not keep quiet until our people are safely returned home,’ a release by the group states.

“Today, we launched the #HelpFreeOurPeople Campaign to intensify awareness and amplify the cry for the safe return of victims affected by the Yawota/Esiele attacks.

“Imagine if you or your loved one were the victim — God forbids. The painful truth, however, is that this tragedy could happen to anyone.

“We believe that every life matters, and we refuse to remain silent while families continue to live in pain, fear, and uncertainty.

“Join us by sharing this message, praying with us, and using the hashtag #HelpFreeOurPeople until our voices are heard and our people return safely home.

“May peace return to our land 🙏
