The chairman of Ogbomoso North local government Hon George Ogunlade has assured the people of Ogbomoso that the ongoing road rehabilitation works at various locations in the city being undertaken by the Oyo state government will be of great standard.

Hon Ogunlade gave this assurance Thursday after he inspected some sites of the project including INEC, Ile-Ewe and Ogbegun areas.

Rehabilitation work is in top gear in these areas as in other locations like Osupa, Ode-Abese, Apatematawin and so on. However, because of some patching that were initially and hastily executed in some locations like Ode-Abese area but while beyond, Exchange axis towards Ayegun area, the road is in bad condition and the contractors have abandoned the site, the general consensus being formed is that an haphazard work is in the offing.

“I am aware of some concerns and rumors circulating about the “patch” stage of the road,” he began. “I want to assure everyone that this is part of the construction process. The roads are first prepared before the final stage, which includes full tiling/asphalting, as well as completion of drainage and the bridge—just like the work currently ongoing at Ogbegun river.”

He appealed to the people to be unperturbed assuring a quality work will be done. He buttressed his point by saying Governor Seyi Makinde believes in action and good job.

“I urge our people to remain calm and patient. The project is ongoing, and the final finishing will be done properly. The asphalt work will be completed, and the roads will meet the expected standard.
