As the 2025 International Migrants Day holds today 18th December, 2025 with the theme “My great story: Cultures and development,” the Civil Society Network on Migration & Development (CSOnetMADE) Oyo state, has called for proactive effort from the federal government towards approving the newly revised National Migration Policy and the Oyo state government to adopt and implement the National Migration Governance System as a bold step in the fourth level coordination of the National Migration Governance System.

This is contained in a statement signed by (Dr.) Oluwabukola Olatunji, state coordinator, CSOnetMADE.
According to the statement the International Migrants Day is meant to highlight “how human mobility drives growth, enriches societies and helps communities connect, adapt, and support one another.”

He added, “The domestication of the National Migration Policy in Oyo State will solve and proffer solutions to all migration issues confronting the populace in Oyo State.

“Also, we assure the Government at all levels of our support as a coalition in the State and beyond.”
