We’ll re-organize Ogbomoso Parapo – Soun, as association takes ‘Operation oneness’ to monarch

The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III has declared that Egbe Omo Ogbomoso Parapo Agbaaye will be tinkered with, expectedly in its organizational structure, objectives and scope.

This was the highlight of the courtesy visit paid to the palace of the monarch Thursday afternoon by a delegation of the home branch of the socio-cultural association led by its chairman, Prince Aderemi Olude. The association also received the monarch’s blessing on its pet project, “Isokan lanfe ni ijoba Ogbomoso mararun” (Operation oneness in Ogbomoso five local governments).

Receiving the delegation, the Soun said unequivocally, “The association is going to be re-organized to make it truly a unifying force.”     

Oba Olaoye further emphasized the need to work for the development of the zone and transform it into a leading community.

Prince Olude speaking with newsmen expressed satisfaction with the position of the Kabiyesi and urged all Ogbomoso indigenes to “allow peace and harmony to reign, be it traditional rulers, politicians and everyone, we should allow unity and cooperation to reign.This will enable us speak with one voice.”

Ogbomoso Parapo with several zonal branches is the apex socio-cultural organization in the community with all indigenes (and wives of indigenes) of the town automatic members, Every December 26, it holds an annual general meeting, which involves giving of reports of developmental activities in the outgoing year and deliberations on future developmental agenda. Its worldwide president presently is Rt. Hon. Justice Afolabi Adeniran (rtd.), a former Chief Judge of Oyo state.
