The Soun of Ogbomosoland, HIM Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III has charged Christians to remain steadfast in Christ as the 2025 Lenten season begins with the Ash Wednesday today.

This is contained in a message signed by Oba Olaoye’s Coordinating Assistant online Media and Community Relations, Rev Peter Olaleye, made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

“As the Holy Easter Lent begins, l have this concise message for all Christian brothers and sisters throughout the world.

“I wish all Ogbomoso sons and daughters who are Christians and believers all over the world happy beginning of the Great and Honorable Easter Lent!”

The monarch urged Jesus Christ should be made the centrepiece of their activities during the period and beyond while beseeching sins should be fled from and spirit of forgiveness embraced.

“Let the centre of our attention during the Holy Lent be Christ Jesus our Lord, who Himself taught us the kingdom lifestyle.

“Let us check ourselves, pray, and flee from everything that ties us to the worldly things. Let us display the attitude of Christ and the fruits of the spirit as stated in the epistle of Apostle Paul to the Galatians 5:22-23 (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). Let us forgive one another, and be reconciled in brotherly love.”
