Oju Oja Elemo in Oriire local government area of Ogbomoso zone of Oyo state was engulfed in joy recently as the sleepy community got a new traditional ruler.

The new Baale Chief Abel Olaleye Ajadi, who was installed Friday October 18 followed by the ikije ceremony Thursday October 24 is the proprietor of Abitech Shoe Global Enterprises, along Kuye road, Orita-Naira, Ogbomoso.
Chief Ajadi in a chat with ogbomosoinsightonline.com promised a new dawn in the agrarian community asuring his focus would be on development.

“I thank Elemo royal family for finding me worthy of the appointment. I can assure you this is going to be a new beginning in Elemo. My preoccupation is developing our ancestral home,” he declared, adding, “My vision is rooted in the desire to bring prosperity to the people and residents of Elemo in general. We appeal to government, politicians, our representatives, public – spirited individuals and indigenes of Elemo at home and in the diaspora to contribute to the task of changing the narrative of the community.”

Chief Ajadi who said he is also a farmer expressed gratitude to the Oyo state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde; Orirre local government chairman, Hon Kayode Olateju; the traditional council in Oriire local government and its members, friends and neighbours, his wife, Ifeoluwa Ajadi, and several others whom he said supported his installation.
The new traditional ruler informed Oju Oja Elemo is also called by the name Antete adding it is one of the Alahoro communities which relocated to Ogbomoso during the turbulent 19th century when Fulani wars devastated parts of Yorubaland.
“In Ogbomoso, our ancestors settled at Taraa area and that is where we have Elemo royal quarters today,” the shoe factory boss – turned Baale stated.
He was the secretary of the royal family before being beckoned on to assume the position of Baale Elemo. He called on every member of the family, including those who also nursed the ambition to ascend the stool to join him in ‘moving the community forward.”
