Adedoyin a two-term legislator, said he took the decision in view of the unresolved crises rocking the PDP, while blaming the ruling party at the centre the All Progressives Congress APC for the instability in the opposition parties.

“I hereby formally announce my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and my decision to officially align with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM),” he declared.
“This decision was not made in haste, but after careful reflection, wide consultations, and sincere consideration of the prevailing realities within the political space. The lingering and unresolved internal crisis within the PDP has continued to weaken the unity, stability, and progressive ideals upon which the party was built. Unfortunately, these challenges have created setbacks capable of limiting effective political engagement and service delivery to the people.
“It is also important to state that the increasing influence and dominance of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national level has contributed significantly to the weakening and destabilization of opposition parties across the country. The growing political atmosphere aimed at turning Nigeria into a one-party state has fueled divisions and crises within opposition platforms, including the PDP, thereby threatening the healthy democratic culture necessary for national development.”

He emphasized his democratic credentials. “As a democrat who strongly believes in political inclusiveness, credible opposition, and people-oriented governance, I have chosen to move forward on a platform that offers hope, political stability, and a better opportunity to continue serving my constituents effectively. Henceforth, I wish to be recognized as a proud member of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).”
He expressed appreciation to Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde for “his visionary leadership, commitment to good governance, and developmental strides across Oyo State.”
Adedoyin likewise thanked the PDP for making him whom he is just as he assures the people of his constituency of continued good representation.
“This transition is not a departure from the people, but a renewed strategic step toward ensuring stronger representation, effective service delivery, and sustained grassroots development.”
Recall Governor Seyi Makinde directed candidates of the PDP to migrate to the APM under which platform they are to contest the 2027 general elections.
