Governor Makinde was said to have made this disclosure recently during a meeting with PDP stakeholders in Ibadan.

A source informed ogbomosoinsightonline.com, “The governor was frank. He told members of the House of Assembly who are PDP members and others that the 2027 election was crucial and the party could only excel if sellable candidates are presented for elections.”

Recall in 2023, many candidates of the party especially in the House of Assembly’s elections benefitted the goodwill of Engr Makinde being on the ballot paper. But since he would not be contesting the governorship again, such leveraging on his acceptability would be absent. Thus, the emphasis on presentability isn’t uncalled for.
