Under the initiatives, a medical outreach was held Tuesday, for the people of Ogbomoso North which involved among others free medical consultation, general counselling, free drugs dispensation, medical screenings among others. Over two hundred residents benefited the health outreach programme held at the APC secretariat Apake, Ogbomoso.

“I am not just joining I have joined the race; I have the zeal and the passion to serve, we are servant leaders. Obviously, the zeal and the urge I have to serve the people is something driving me. I am well equipped to represent Ogbomoso North local government by the special grace of God.”

OBA affirming the supremacy of the party said, “We understand very well that party is supreme, and overtime I have been in touch with stakeholders, senatorial chairman, ward leaders, local government chairman, and all critical stakeholders. I have maintained contact with them, carrying them along. Through them, I am getting closer to the people of the grassroots. In addition, that is why we are here today, to launch the Royalty Foundation so that we can reach out to the grassroots, the people that matter, by the time the election comes around, to let them know we have their interest at heart. I am not doing this actually because of politics, it is a norm for me, I have been doing it, outside the shores of Ogbomoso, I have done it in Lagos, I have done in Kogi state, I have done in Ogbomoso – at Ogbomoso High School, where we gave GCE forms to students, assisted some others financially, so, this is not the first time and we will continue to consolidate on this gesture.”

On his choice of APC, he disclosed he is a core progressive who has been with the party since the inception of the current republic. “I have been a member of the APC from the time of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Action Congress (AC), to Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to APC. I am a loyal graduand of the Asiwaju School of Politics, I have been with him for over 25 years of course.”

He insisted “My inspiration is to give back to the society, not that I have all but to give a little to the people, they say health is wealth, if we take care of the health of our people especially the older ones, we will have a better society.”

Reminded many aspirants are in the race he asserted he had no fear, saying, “It is a race, it is a competition.” He however advocated fairness within the party. “First of all, there should be a level playing ground, then the aspirants must imbibe the spirit of sportsmanship, whoever emerges, others should accept. We must rally round the person to give support in the interest of the party. So basically, I think I am better equipped than the other aspirants but we look up to God for total success.”

Olaogun, hammering on the experience he had garnered over the years as a public servant, both at the state and federal level, stressed that would give him an edge over his co-aspirants. “I have the experience, I have been in the game for over 25 years like I said, also, I have been a public servant with the Lagos state government, I am presently working with the federal government, I am very well exposed in public service. Bringing the experience of public service into politics is a kind of synergy that is actually not common, talking about the Nigerian politics. And of course, going forward, I am a microbiologist too, I have the science background, I have the administrative background, bringing all those things together in politics I am very sure my candidature will be one everyone will be proud to have.”

He urged well-to-do individuals to extend hand of assistance to the less-privileged, also canvassing that there is need for the Ogbomoso people to rally behind the developmental agenda of the Soun His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III aimed at transforming Ogbomosoland. “Let those with the means come around to assist students in schools, support the elderly and the less-privileged. Also, they should support the vision of Kabiyesi, His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, in driving the growth of Ogbomoso.”
