With profound joy and gratitude, I join countless well-wishers across Nigeria and in the diaspora to celebrate an icon of honour and service, a trailblazer in leadership, and a rare philanthropist – Air Vice Marshal Jacob Bolaji Adigun (Rtd.), on the occasion of his 65th birthday.
Born on 2nd October 1960 in Jos, Plateau State, but proudly rooted in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, AVM Adigun’s life has been a story of discipline, service, and excellence.
From his early days at Baptist Day Primary School, Jos, through Government College, Kaduna, and later the Nigerian Defence Academy (28th Regular Course), he carved out a distinguished career in the Nigerian Air Force spanning over 36 meritorious years of service.
A consummate professional, scholar, and administrator, a Fellow of the Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), and a proud recipient of an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.

Throughout his career, he held numerous strategic appointments, including:
Chief of Accounts & Budget, HQ Nigerian Air Force (NAF)
Director, NAF Pension Management & Planning Board (MPB)
Directing Staff at the Air Force Senior Command & Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji
Beyond the military, his life of service continues through his roles as Chief Akogun of Ogbomosoland, Chairman of the Ogbomoso Descendants Development Association (ODDA), Chairman of Soun Job Creation and Empowerment Committee, Chairman of Ogbomoso Development Council under His Imperial Majesty Kabiyesi Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III Soun of Ogbomosoland, and CEO of both Ayoka Foundation and Ayoka Farms Ltd.

His generosity, philanthropy, and unwavering commitment to the development of Ogbomoso land and Nigeria at large remain unparalleled.
But beyond his official accomplishments, to me he is more than a leader. He is a father figure, a mentor, and a benefactor whose love and trust I deeply cherish. Sir, your humility, faith, and encouragement have been guiding lights in my own journey. Your life inspires many including me to serve with integrity, to give selflessly, and to honour my roots.
On this milestone 65th birthday, I pray that the Almighty God will grant you renewed strength, sound health, and many more fruitful years to continue your impactful service to humanity.
