Hope rises as Gov Makinde meets council bosses on Ogbomoso roads, pays visit today

The Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde has met with some council chairmen in Ogbomoso zone towards fulfilling his promise of embarking on massive rehabilitation of roads in the zone.

 

According to information obtained by ogbomosoinsightonline.com the chairmen of Ogbomoso North and Ogbomoso South local governments, George Ogunlade and Oyedokun Oyeniyi Timothy respectively met with the governor on Monday at Ibadan, during which the matter was reportedly discussed.

In continuation of the effort it is learnt the governor would pay a working visit to the city today Tuesday to address workers of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH Teaching Hospital Ogbomoso which has been paralysed by industrial action embarked upon by different unions including the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD).

After jaw-jawing with the staff the governor would embark on the inspection of roads in the metropolis with the goal of expressly approving some of the intra-city roads.

 

Ogbomoso Insight learnt that Craneburg Construction Company and another construction company might be awarded the contract which is expected to commence soon.

 

Recall the governor and government functionaries especially the Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly Hon. Sanjo Adedoyin have been hammering it that in the next phase of road infrastructure to be executed by the state government Ogbomoso and other zones would benefit.

Ogbomoso internal roads have no doubt become extremely dilapidated with many associations and individuals calling for the urgent intervention of the governor. The problem facing LAUTECH Teaching Hospital is also in the front burner of “emergencies.”

 

Ogbomoso Recreation Club under the leadership of Dr Akin Oladeji-JohnBrown last weekend wrote a passionate letter appealing to the governor on the matter of road and urged him to address the perennial strike at the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital. Also, Rev’d Niyi Adebayo, the Lead Pastor of True Worshippers Church, in an open letter made an appeal to the two-term governor imploring him to fix the roads and the problem bedevilling the tertiary hospital.
