Jubilation as 44 survivors of Oriire abduction arrive in Ogbomoso, Soun, others receive them at LAUTECH TH

The forty-four surviving Oriire abductees, five teachers and 39 pupils/students have touched down in Ogbomoso en route their private residences.

The survivors who spent 56 days in the captivity of the bandits in the Old Oyo National Park and rescued last Friday by security agents since then were attended to at the Odogbo Cantonment Clinic Ojoo in Ibadan.

The federal government meanwhile handed them over to the Oyo state government Monday afternoon and after a session at the Governor’s Office were conveyed to Ogbomoso taking them again to the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital for further treatment after which they would be released to reunite to their families.

A large crowd welcomed them to Ogbomoso, with people following their vehicles all the way from High school area.

Recall two of the teachers Mr. Michael Oyedokun and Me. John Olaleye were killed by the assailants. On the day of the kidnap three persons were reportedly killed by the bandits, one teacher, a student and an okada man.
