The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has further consolidated as political bigwigs with their followers continue to join the train of the party, redefining the political atmosphere.

The party’s constituency meeting in Ogbomoso recently was unbelievably thronged by a large crowd enough to give the All Progressives Congress APC and the Peoples Democratic Party PDP jitters in the build up to the 2027 general elections.

The meeting held at the Alata Coolroom, Ojatuntun, old Sawmill area, drew various bigwigs and erstwhile political leaders in PDP and APC along with members from across the three local governments constituting the constituency – Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South and Oriire. It was part of the ongoing mobilisation and sensitisation drive of the party.

Among the leaders is Sunday Adeyemo, a former chieftain of the PDP. Adeyemo better known as Booda Sunday Adeyemo (BSA) swelled the gathering with his massive grassroots followers.

BSA speaking at the event, reaffirmed his commitment to the ADC and declared that the party was steadily becoming the credible alternative to the ruling giants in Oyo state politics.

“We are building a movement, not just a party. ADC represents hope for the masses who have been sidelined by insincere politics for too long. From Ogbomoso to Ibadan, from Oyo to Ibarapa, we are mobilising a new generation of leaders who will put the people first,” Adeyemo said, as the crowd roared in approval.

Party leaders commended Adeyemo, describing him as a man whose goodwill and grassroots connection will translate into massive gains for the party. The constituency chairman noted that the ADC has begun to “gain unstoppable momentum” across Oyo state and that the Ogbomoso meeting marked a fresh chapter in the party’s consolidation.

Observers at the meeting noted that Adeyemo’s goodwill has already begun swelling the ADC’s camp, with many defectors from other parties signaling interest to join forces with him. Several youths in attendance said “BSA is the Future,” and “ADC is Our Home,” underscoring the excitement generated by his entry.

The meeting ended with resolutions to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the next general elections, while leaders vowed to take the ADC’s message of “accountability, inclusiveness, and people-driven governance to every ward in the constituency.”

For many political analysts, the Ogbomoso federal constituency meeting was not just another party gathering — it was a loud statement that the ADC, now powered by Sunday Adeyemo and others is fast becoming the rising force in Oyo politics.
