Speaking at the event, Hon Afolabi a.k. a. Olaogo said he was moved to make the “little contribution” after he saw some pupils last year “wearing torn clothes.”
“I have nursed this programme for about a year,” he said. “l was walking one day and l saw some pupils with torn clothes, l was concerned that these are our future and so l told myself that l would make my little contribution to alleviate the plight. I believe we should not wait till we have something big before we touch lives.

“I made similar contributions in my first tenure as supervisory councillor like building the party house and in the present tenure l said let me do this, under the banner, ‘Back to school programme,’ which aligns with His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde’s education agenda, the of ‘No-out-of–school’ children.
“It is His Excellency that inspired this gesture and that is why l embossed his name and photograph on some of the items. We selected beneficiaries from across the wards in the local government and is supported by all our leaders.
“I will say the programme is borne out of my passion for our children, the less-privileged in primary schools. We have sown into the lives of these children in our little way, we pray it will yield bountiful, profitable fruits, these children will be great. We pray and l promise to work to expand it next time.”
