It was harvest of inspiring tributes as Pa Pastor Samuel Oladejo Jekayinfa was laid to rest on Friday, July 25, 2025. Pastor Jekayinfa, husband of Mama Professor Alice Arinlade Jekayinfa, died on June 9, 2025, at the age of 95 years.
Many who graced both the wake programme and the funeral service at the House to House Prayer Ministries Inc., Papa Adeyemo, Ogbomoso, Oyo state, poured eulogies on him, describing him as a generous, honest man, who served the Lord wholeheartedly.
Rev’d Debo Adeyemo, General Overseer of House to House Prayer Ministries which ordained the deceased as a clergyman, in his testimony, declared, “Baba was a giver, he gave to people, he loved God. He was honest, a leader, an evangelist, a counselor, and someone who had the fear of God. We are going to miss him.”
Speaking of his service in the Lord’s vineyard, Rev’d Adeyemo remarked, “He did much in this ministry, he was my encourager, never a demoralizer, he was not only a pastor in the ministry, he was a teacher, a visioner, he knew Bible passages off hand, yet he admitted it when he made mistakes underscoring his humility. We are celebrating a committed patriarch who positively impacted the church of God and the society at large. We will miss him.”
Many others also spoke of him in glowing terms. “He knew God, a friend of his wife, very patient and understanding – demonstrated in allowing his wife to study to become a professor. He embodied perseverance, he was loving, and always cheerful.”
Additionally, he was praised for his love and devotion to education which ensured all his children were well educated despite his own limited opportunity. “What he couldn’t achieve, he made sure it was achieved through his children and others.”

He was further described as a “prayer warrior, who never admitted or tremble in the face of problem.”
“He was accountable, prudent, planned every expenses, never went broke, never was he reckless with money.”
In his sermon, titled, “Are you ready to meet the Lord?” Rev’d Debo Adeyemo, emphasized the need for all to be born again, while urging the congregation to be prepared to meet the Lord. “You must be born again, be born the second time, and be prepared always to meet the Lord. Preparation is very important. It is like anything we do in real life, preparation, if we don’t prepare we are bound to fail. So, preparation in the spiritual realm is vital. There is somewhere we are going after this worldly existence, it’s called heaven, only those whose garments are not blemished will access the place, that is why l am urging you to be prepared to enter the place. Know that everyone will give account of his stewardship. Heaven is beautiful, we must be serious in our preparation, let us shun sins, if there is sin in your life you won’t make heaven,” he submitted.
His wife, Prof Mrs. Jekayinfa, a devout community leader, his first child, Prof Simeon Olatayo Jekayinfa, second child, Rev’d Dunni Jekayinoluwa Goodman and other children, as well as many others all had their tributes dovetailing towards one common thread, “Pastor Samuel Oladejo Ajao Jekayinfa was a goodman who made life better for others, a strict disciplinarian, a man of strong faith, who never accepted mediocrity.”
Royal fathers, community leaders, clergymen, academics and several others attended the event while the many guests were entertained at Jodeb Event Centre Oke – Anu.
