Mr. Adeyemo, popularly called Booda Sunday Adeyemo, BSA, communicated his decision to the party exco in his ward 4 through a letter Thursday.
In the resignation letter submitted to the PDP ward chairman and made available to the press, Adeyemo recalled his longstanding commitment to community service, youth empowerment, and care for the aged noting this formed the foundation of his political journey.
He stressed however that the party often fails to take service into consideration when deciding things accusing the leadership of undemocratic actions which he noted is making them lose direction.
“The murky waters of politics are increasingly being hijacked by some elements, whose values and conduct do not align with the principles of integrity, accountability, and service,” the letter reads in part.

In an interaction with journalists, BSA, who has a long history of championing the cause of the masses and society at large through numerous selfless programmes, further revealed, “What pushed me to resign was not just ideological. It was the arrogance of leadership, their highhandedness, and the continued neglect of loyal and committed financial members like myself.
“People who have given their time, resources, and goodwill to the party are being ignored and sidelined, while a few individuals with no grassroots legitimacy impose themselves through impunity. That is not the politics I signed up for.”

He also disclosed that he had endured the impunity for too long, hoping for reform and internal reconciliation, but things only worsened.
According to Hon. Adeyemo, consultations with his supporters and community leaders are ongoing, and a new political direction will be made public soon.
“In conjunction with my numerous faithful supporters, we shall, in due course, announce our next political move. Our commitment remains to the public good and the true progress of Ogbomoso South,” he added.
