3-term National Assembly member Odebunmi Bunvic leads reconstituted Ogbomoso Cradle Carnival committee

Hon. Olusegun Oladokun Odebunmi has emerged new chairman of the Culture & Tourism Committee, an arm of the 25 year-development plan of the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye Orumogege III, saddled with the mandate to transform Ogbomoso through culture, tourism, and strategic investment.
The committee will organise the much anticipated 2025 Ogbomoso Cradle Carnival scheduled for December 18 to 22.

The committee was officially inaugurated Sunday by the monarch.
Hon. Olusegun Dokun Odebunmi a.k.a. Bunvic, a former three-term member of the House of Representatives (representing Surulere/Ogo-Oluwa federal constituency) and current chairman, Board of Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA), served as a member of the committee previously.
Some other members are Dr. Oladejo Akanni (vice chairman), Prince Adegbile Adeomi (CEO A4 Concept), Benedict Ayoola, Mrs. Motunrayo Babatunde, Lameed Lateefat, Pa Afolabi Olaniran (a retired Director of National Business and Technical Examinations Board, NABTEB), Mr. Muyiwa Oke and Prince Oyebamiji Oyedeji (Mogaji Bolanta).

Speaking after the inauguration, Hon. Odebunmi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Soun.
He noted the committee will strive hard to achieve its set goal while beckoning on sons and daughters of Ogbomoso to join hands towards unraveling an impactful carnival.
“l appreciate His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III for the honour and opportunity to serve,” he stated. “This is not just a celebration, it’s a mission to reawaken our identity and create a future of pride and prosperity for Ogbomoso. It is a selfless assignment. Let’s all join hands to make it impactful and historic.”
In view of his vast experience in governance, community engagement, and public service, Hon. Odebunmi, who also served as chairman of Surulere local government, is well-positioned to steer the vision of the Cradle Carnival towards lasting impact.

The carnival, which commenced in December 2024, is designed to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Ogbomoso while positioning the town as a hub for cultural tourism, economic growth, and youth empowerment.
Odebunmi succeeds Prince Williams Adeleye as chairman of the committee, which organised the maiden edition.
