The first of the series of the townhall meeting instituted by the Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III which held at the Lagbami Osekun Hall Arowomole, presented an opportunity for the unveiling of the Federal Government’s plan to dualise the major trunk A road that traverses Ogbomoso. Oba Ghandi revealed the road would be made four lane covering Ogbomoso High School area to LAUTECH area. The news provoked joy and applause. According to the monarch an unnamed high placed indigene had sought from him two most important projects he would like the Federal Government to execute in the city. The traditional ruler had mentioned the completion of the Ogbomoso – Oyo dual carriageway and the dualization of Ogbomoso High School – LAUTECH road that meanders through the main metropolis. According to Oba Olaoye the man assuredly retorted, “Consider the projects done!”
Shortly after, the construction of the abandoned Ogbomoso – Oyo new highway commenced. We are eagerly awaiting the flag off of the construction of the inner road. Its construction no doubt will be an exciting value addition to Ogbomoso in terms of aesthetics, ease of vehicular movement, reduced rate of road crashes and related deaths, economic boost among others.

It is a strategic project the community needs ardently, thanks for the facilitator and gratitude to the ingenuity of the monarch in swiftly deciding those germane projects. It shows the fecundity of Kabiyesi’s mind and his grasp of the situation of Ogbomoso.
Meanwhile, this piece is an ardent appeal to extend the distance covered by the proposed dual carriageway about one kilometre on either end. That will make it Agric/Owolaake to Aroje. Ogbomoso metropolis has extended effectively and robustly to the two ends.
That is the appeal. I beseech it be considered.
