Barrister Adebayo Shittu, former Minister of Communications, has sought support from Ogbomoso as he launched a bid for the Oyo Government House in 2027.
Barrister Shittu, an Oke Ogun-born governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) also pledged to purchase and distribute 5, 000 tractors if he realised his ambition in 2027, stating that would be his first deed after swearing – in.

These were highlights of his meeting with party’s stakeholders and members in Ogbomoso Tuesday, at Atobatele hall, Oja Oba Ogbomoso.
Shittu unveiling his manifesto emphasized his agenda as encapsulated in his manifesto tagged “7 cardinal programmes for the total and effective transformation of Oyo state.”
He stated “free qualitative and functional education, integrated infrastructural development, integrated agricultural and rural development, comprehensive health/medical reforms, full and gainful employment for all, citizens relief programme” are part of what he would focus.
Later speaking with the press, he disclosed if he was elected as the governor of Oyo, journalists would have an edge.
He said, “I have immense interest in journalism. I wanted to study mass communication in tertiary institution. If God helps us to succeed come 2027, journalists will have a special space in our governance”.

Continuing, he said he would practice an inclusive governance, ”None of the party aspirants will be sidetracked from our administration if I gain the seat.”
“The type of governance I want to have will be very inclusive even all other governorship aspirants will be requested to submit nominations for appointments, they will have representatives in the government so they won’t feel abandoned after their efforts”.
Also, he pledged that if he had the opportunity to mount the mantle of Oyo gubernatorial seat, five thousand (5,000) tractors will be donated to the farmers to boost agricultural development in the state.
“If I become governor, on the day of my swearing-in, I will sign contract for the supply of 5,000 tractors for the farmers. We will give them free of charge”.

Meanwhile, he lamented the condition of the Ogbomoso – Oyo road, promising to rehabilitate it if given chance to lead Oyo state come 2027. “When I was coming to Ogbomoso this morning, I was disgusted by the condition of the supposedly newly constructed road. If they haven’t done it before I gain the governorship seat, it is one of the first developments we will dabble into.”
He now appealed to the people of Ogbomoso to support his ambition assuring”Ogbomoso will take a prime place in my administration.”
