The Oranmiyan of Okoland Oba (Dr.) Solomon Olagoke Adisa Akinola Oyeyode lll, Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Alaafin of Oyo His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Abdul-Akeem Owoade l.
Writing on the royal visit on his Facebook wall, Oba Akinola stated, “It was a surprise package in early hours of today, Tuesday, 6th of May, 2025 when His Imperial Majesty, Oba Abimbola Abdul-Akeem Owoade l, Alaafin of Oyo sees people from his second home, Oko-Irese, Surulere Local Government area of Oyo State led by Alayeluwa Oba (Dr.) Solomon Olagoke Adisa Akinola Oyeyode lll, the Oranmiyan of Okoland.”
High Chief Solomon Adekola Ojedayo, the Elejemu of Okoland, delivered a goodwill message welcoming Oba Abimbola to the stool of his forefathers and prayed for long life and prosperity for the Iku Baba Eye.
The Oranmiyan of Okoland pledged unalloyed support to the new Alaafin saying, “Your Imperial Majesty Oko-Irese is your second home town.”
Responding, Oba Abimbola who could not hide his joy declared, “Oko-Irese is my home town and l am always ready to fight for its progress.”

Rev’d Dr. T.S Kolade prayed God would “be the foundation of the administration of Alaafin of Oyo and for his reign to be fruitful and remain indelible in the annals of the ancient community.”
Members of Oloko Chieftaincy families, members of Oloko-in-Council, Oko Development Association (ODA) leaders and members, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Oko Muslim Community, Isese Adimula adherents and other well wishers from the community, were part of the entourage of the Oranmiyan of Okoland.
