2027: Agitations for power shift break out in Oke-Ogun, barapa zones

As the clock ticks towards the 2027 general election, youths and other partisan persons in Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa zones of Oyo state are becoming restless over the issue of power shift in the state come 2027.
According to news gathered by ogbomosoinsightonline.com, meetings are increasingly being held across the two zones to demand for power rotation which the people of the state capital Ibadan have seen as their exclusive right.
One of such meetings held last Sunday was at Igbeti Town Hall by the youth wing of Igbeti Toro, attended by among others chairman and convener of Egbe Ajosepo Fun Itesiwaju Gbogbo Wa, Engr. Dauda Olaifa, Engr. Shola Babalola, and Dr. John Fatunbi, the coordinator of the Irepo chapter, where the future of Oke -Ogun was discussed.
“Ibadan has held the position for long save for the four years late Chief Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala held the reins which was by divine arrangement, Ibadan has monopolized the position as if other parts of the state are non-existent,” a politician from Saki, who gave his name simply as Ogunesan remarked during a telephone chat with Ogbomoso Insight.
He added, “This must not continue, there are competent people in Oke-Ogun, Ibarapa, Oyo and Ogbomoso zones who will do well and better as governor. New ideas must be allowed to be injected into the governance of the state, enough of Ibadan-centric administrations we have been having since these years. Enough is enough.”

Also an Okeho-born Ibadan-based politician, Kehinde Adesina said, “People of other zones need to agitate, if we don’t talk Ibadan will perpetually take the driver’s seat to the detriment of other zones in the state. If the south did not shout President Bola Tinubu will not be President today. Our people must speak out demanding power rotation as 2027 approaches. We have the right to the exalted seat too. We must do it for the future of our unborn children.”
