Sir Olatunde Okelana, Balogun Olugbon, to be conferred with Doctoral Fellow

Sir Olatunde Okelana JP the Balogun Olugbon of Orile-Igbon in Surulere local government area of Oyo state, is among the eminent Nigerians to be conferred with the prestigious honour of Doctoral Fellow of African Institute for Justices of the Peace.

The investiture ceremony slated for Saturday September 21, at The Dome, Sultan Beilo Hall, University of Ibadan, coincides with the annual International Peace Day, which the institute is also commemorating with a public lecture and African Peace Ambassador ceremony.

Sir Olatunde Okelana, a retired military officer with sterling records, is an African foremost justice and peace advocate.
He has also distinguished himself as a traditional Chief (Balogun of Orile-Igbon), and Knight of St. Bernard Commandery No 35, Chicago IL, USA.
Presently a PhD student in Criminology and Security Studies, which is nearing completion and a holder of advanced degrees in Criminal Justice and French, has over the years demonstrated his keeness in justice, peace, and conflict dynamics.
As a conflict mediator, Justice of Peace, and member of esteemed professional bodies, including the Nigerian Computer Society and Midwestern Criminal Justice Association (MCJA), USA, Nigeria Society for Criminology (NSC), Sir Okelana has consistently promoted justice, peace, and conflict resolution. His expertise has been sought in various capacities, including the Alternate Dispute Resolution Unit of the State Department of Justice for Ogbomoso Zone.
He is additionally a humanitarian involved in several philanthropic activities, lately through his foundation – Sir Olatunde Okelana Foundation – to transform lives and inspire hope. This is aside copiously demonstrating his unwavering commitment to Africa’s development.

The African Institute for Justices of the Peace impressed by “his outstanding contributions, exemplary leadership, and tireless advocacy for justice and peace, confers upon Sir Olatunde Okelana the distinguished honor of Doctoral Fellow,” the institute notes in a correspondence, adding, “By conferring this honor, the African Institute for Justices of the Peace celebrates Sir Olatunde Okelana’s remarkable achievements, dedication, and unwavering commitment to justice, peace, and African development.”
