Following RCCG’s initiative in Ibadan, Lagos begins sales of subsidized foods – ‘Ounje Eko’

The Lagos state government has rolled out a special market selling food items at discounted prices to cushion the effects of the prevailing hardship in the country.
The food market ‘Ounje Eko’, which took off across the state Sunday it’s gathered witnessed large turn out of people.

This is sequel to a directive by the Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu that essential food items at the “Ounje Eko” food markets be sold at a discount in all five divisions of Lagos starting on Sunday, March 17.
This ogbomosoinsightonline.com recalls is a re-enactment of the initiative of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Jesus Porch Assembly in Ibadan dubbed, “Jesus Market,’ which also sold at subsidized prices last Sunday.
Staple food items such as rice, beans, garri, eggs, onions, tomatoes, indomie and pepper were sold at Jesus Market at very reduced prices, the Lagos’ ‘Ounje Eko’ market sold at 25% discounted prices.

Residents who patronized the markets at Ibadan and Lagos markets in separate interviews with newsmen gave kudos to the initiators.
Pastor Ademola Olufeko of RCCG Jesus Porch Ibadan recommended the initiative to the government during an interview with ogbomosoinsightonline.com, submitting it would bring relief to the hard pressed Nigerians.
