LAUTECH multi-campus proposal:Saka Balogun says, only God can stop it, calls for prayer

A leader of Ogbomoso community, Dr. Saka Balogun has declared that only prayer can halt the proposal to turn Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso into a multi-campus institution.
Dr. Balogun, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP) Reconciliation Committee in Oyo state that submitted its report recently, made this declaration during the annual general meeting (AGM) of Ogbomoso Parapo Worldwide, which came up today at Ogunlola Hall, Oja’gbo.
Speaking at the well-attended event, Balogun noted: “On the issue of LAUTECH, I must say the truth, I fear no one, the only thing I fear is refraining from telling the truth. Governor Makinde is bent on implementing the proposal.
“Yes, as stated by an earlier speaker, Kabiyesi, Baba Soun invited him (Makinde) to request him to stave off the proposal to dismember LAUTECH but he never replied and after that what do we see, he sent an executive bill on the matter to the House of Assembly.
“The governor once he is set on a path never retraces his step, that is what I have known of him, if he yields to you it only means what you suggested to him or asked him to do aligns with his thought, he doesn’t yield.
“The only thing we can do now is to pray that God will touch his heart to rescind the decision.”
Balogun added that Ogbomoso is not against the decision to convert LAUTECH into a multi-campus university because of its location in the town but due to past experience on multi-campus institutions.
“We are not opposed to the multi-campus proposal for LAUTECH because of its location in Ogbomoso but because of our experience on such matter. We should all join hands to pray so that the matter can be staved off,” Balogun stated.
