Pakiotan Sawmill grounded as transformer cable carted away, 1, 000 persons out of job

The Pakiotan Sawmill Complex Ogbomoso Oyo state has suffered a huge setback following the theft of the cable servicing the transformer that supplies the industrial base.
According to information reaching ogbomosoinsightonline.com the theft was discovered recently and since then, power supply to the place has been cut off, making activities there to be grounded.

In the face of the predicament the sawmillers have appealed to public-spirited individuals, politicians and philanthropists to come to their aid as they would need about five million naira(₦5m) to replace the stolen items. It was lamented about 1, 000 persons have as a result been thrown into joblessness.

In a Facebook post, a sawmiller, Hon Adewuyi Adegbite states, “According to the IBEDC officials at the scene of the theft, the cables in question would cost like #5 million to replace. In view of the exorbitant price of the cables, the leadership of the industry has appealed to political leaders, community leaders and public spirited individuals to come to the rescue of the industry where more than 1000 workers have been thrown into despair.”
