Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Femi Onireti unveils new NGO, Soun hails initiative

Hon Femi Onireti has launched a new non-governmental organization, Elyon Humanitarian Support Initiative (EHSI).
The unveiling of the NGO at the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day programme at the Heroes Arcade, Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso, Wednesday, was marked with financial support to widows; N400, 000 (four hundred thousand naira) was gifted to 40 widows.
The NGO, it’s stated, will make its impact felt in areas such as economic, education, medical and financial, hoping to strategically make interventions regularly in these areas to contribute to alleviating the suffering of the people.
Its vision is encapsulated in its motto: “Transforming lives and communities across Africa.”
The US-based Hon Onireti, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), though not present at the unveiling ceremony, assured, while speaking with ogbomosoinsightonline.com, that “We will not relent in providing succour for the people. Our activities were undertaken previously under Femi Onireti Foundation but that foundation was never registered. We now have a registered NGO – Elyon Humanitarian Support Initiative. We have provided a bus, we will continue to make contributions in our little way to help people live a fuller life. We will not stop by the grace of God.”

This is as he disclosed that the NGO is finalizing agreement with the Nigerian Legion to explore ways of rendering assistance to them. “We promised them medical aids and supply of medical equipment. They made sacrifices for Nigeria to preserve the territorial integrity of Nigeria and in other areas too. We will support them and others.
Meanwhile, while speaking at the event the Soun of Ogbomosoland Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, commended the NGO for its gesture while calling on other privileged individuals and groups to assist those in need.

Oba Olaoye, chairman of Ogbomoso North local government, Hon George Ogunlade and others laid wreaths at the Heroes Arcade to commemorate the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
Onireti, who contested the 2023 House of Representatives’ election in Ogbomoso federal constituency, under PDP, is noted for his numerous community services and philanthropic activities, which have ingratiated him with the people.
