Twindad partners OSDNA Youth Forum, distributes food items to 1, 000 widows, PLWDs

Twindad Foundation in partnership with Ogbomoso Sons & Daughters in North America (OSDNA) Youth Forum has empowered about 1, 000 widows, People Living With Disabilities (PLWD) and other less-privileged persons with food items to cushion the effects of hardship ravaging the land in the wake of the hike in fuel prices and other harsh economic policies of the government.

The distribution of the items which included rice, beans, semovita, bread and so on was held Saturday at the orphanage home of the foundation located at Hamama area, Ogbomoso.
Hundreds of target persons thronged the venue to receive the packages in branded cartons, even as each beneficiary was gifted cash as transport fare to cover both trips (to and fro) “because of the far distance of the place,” according to the coordinators.
Giving a background to the gesture, founder and chairman of Twindad Foundation, Dr Kunle Adegbite, who though was not at the event as he is in his US base, reaffirmed in a Facebook post his non-governmental organization’s unwavering devotion to improving the well-being of the less-privileged towards making living better for them.
Dr Adegbite expressed belief that such acts of kindness aside attracting blessings also helps to foster a better society built on compassion.

“A little gift from the Ogbomoso Sons and Daughters in North America, in collaboration with Twindad Foundation to the widows and people living with disabilities in Ogbomoso,” he stated.
“Giving food to those in need, especially to the helpless, carries numerous blessings. It not only provides essential nourishment but also fosters a sense of community and compassion.

Reverend Segun Adeyanju, Lead Pastor of Full Flame Evangelical Ministries, and who runs a widowhood foundation in conjunction with Aale of Okelerin Oba Samuel Babatunde Amao, while commending the benefactors urged them not to relent in doing goods.
He said, “A gesture like this is uncommon in our society. But I want to assure the benefactors that there is big reward for philanthropic spirit and kindness, you will have the reward in the future and your children too will be rewarded. Do not relent.”
Prince Oluwaseun Olalere, a friend to the chairman of Twindad Foundation, Dr Samson Kunle Adegbite, also submitted, “This is inspiring because only few rich people assist the less-privileged, However, this is not his first time, it is something he has been doing for long, may God continue to bless him.”
Disclosing Dr Adegbite, who is based in the United States of America, is involved in many such gestures, Prince Olalere informed that the second edition of Twindad Football Competition will kick off Monday (September 16) at Ogbomoso High School football pitch.
Mr. Ayobami Matthew, manager of Twindad Orphanage Home reiterated the gesture was meant for the widows and the disabled to ameliorate their plight in this hard time, while assuring more of such gesture are in the pipeline. “He did food distribution programme like this last December in which many also benefited, that was in his village in Surulere local government,” Mr. Matthew said.
Mr. Yemi Omotanbaje, a beneficiary, described Dr Adegbite as “a friend of the disabled. At a time like this when there is hardship in the land owing to fuel subsidy removal and there is widespread hunger, he has done amazingly well again. We thank him, God will continue to prosper him.”
Also, Baliqis Ojo, Idowu Adebayo (a blind), Mrs. Yemisi Owolabi (a widow), and several other beneficiaries in their comments expressed gratitude to the benefactors for the “beautiful presentation.”
