Twindad donates N2m to Baba Kwete Foundation for purchase of bus for the vulnerable

Dr Kunle Adegbite, the CEO of Twindad Orphanage Home, has made a donation of N2m to Baba Kwete Foundation towards purchase of a bus needed for the conveying of the vulnerable persons under the care of the foundation.

Last December, Baba Kwete, who presents a number of popular radio programmes such as Oju Abe and E gbagbe Osi, on radio stations in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, held a programme to raise funds for the purchase of a bus to according to him transport some of the persons under his wings like widows, physically challenged persons and so on.

Baba Kwete, whose real name is Olumuyiwa Bolatito, is a radio advocate for the less-privileged persons, the oppressed, those with sicknesses and other maladies, as well as other vulnerable persons in the society using persuasive advocacies to connect the needy in the above categories with potential helpers.

It is in furtherance of this goal that he launched the fund raising programme to seek financial assistance from well-meaning individuals in December.

Dr Adegbite, a US based philanthropist, made a promise at the programme to assist in the acquisition of the bus.

Wednesday evening ogbomosoinsightonline.com was learned Adegbite fulfilled his promise by making a donation of N2m towards the “noble” cause as he puts it.

Confirming the donation, Prince Seun Olalere, a friend of Adegbite, told ogbomosoinsightonline.com the transfer of the money was made a few hours ago, saying, “It is hoped Dr Adegbite’s widow’s mite will be channeled for the purpose it is meant, which he believes is a noble cause.”

Prince Olalere further said, “Dr Adegbite is passionate about assisting the vulnerable persons in the society. He will continue to make little contributions to causes he believes in among which is helping to provide succour to the less-privileged.”

Ogbomoso Insight reported the US-based mental health practitioner organized a football tournament last year with the final held in December at which he doled out exciting prizes to winners. He also staged semi-outdoor games competition involving Ayo Olopon, Draft and Ludo as well as food eating competition with the winners also smiling home with handsome monetary prizes. These are aside the donation of a solar-powered borehole, viewing centre and food items to the people of his ancestral village, Olokiti, in Surulere local government area. At the annual general meeting of apex socio-cultural association in Ogbomoso – Ogbomoso Parapo Worldwide, he similarly announced he would donate a bus to the body just as he made a cash donation of N1m and launched the association’s sticker for N250, 000.
