Power Minister Adelabu promises Ogbomoso 132kv will complete in 4 months, as he returns Soun’s visit

The Minister for Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu has assured that the 330/132kv power substation in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, will be completed in about four months.
Chief Adelabu made this disclosure Monday during a working visit to Ogbomoso which saw him making courtesy call on the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege 111.

Congratulating Oba Olaoye over his ascension, Adelabu informed his entourage composed of all key persons connected with the the project, further promising to ensure electricity supply is extended to all corners of Ogbomoso zone.
He recalled how Oba Olaoye visited him before his coronation to appeal to him on the completion and functionality of the Ogbomoso 132kva power station, revealing the Kabiyesi regretted the project had remained uncompleted for over 15 years.

Vowing the project would receive a new breathe of life under his watch, he affirmed all that is necessary would be seen to. He disclosed a new contractor had been brought on board to join forces with the one already on ground to expedite work and ensure that the power station is completed within 4 months.
This is as he informed federal government’s solar lighting initiative would be expanded in the zone.
The former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria disclosing he was in Ogbomoso to honour his promise to Kabiyesi also assured the era of communities “buying electric poles, cables and transformers for distribution companies is gone.”

While appealing on the need to discourage people from vandalizing government properties especially assets belonging to electricity distribution companies and for people to stop bypassing meters, the minister reiterated Ogbomoso and environs would begin to enjoy improved power supply.
In his speech, Oba Olaoye lauded the minister noting he is an honourable man “that walks his talk.”
The paramount ruler however lamented “it’s unfortunate Ogbomoso, second largest city in Oyo state, does not enjoy stable power supply,” emphasizing his people are very industrious and so need power to drive enterprise, “therefore, I look forward to a serious improvement on the power supply.”
“I am happy that you came, it shows that there will be light at the end of the tunnel. We will do everything possible to support you. You are a man of honour who walks the talk. If you can do this for Ogbomoso, we will forever be grateful. We will be praying for you. Ogbomoso is a land of valiant, our people are entrepreneurs, they are very hard working.”
The delegation also paid a visit to the site at Ajeja/Temidire along Iresaapa road to inspect the project while also going off to Adafila, a town in Oriire local government area of the state, to commission a solar electricity station provided by the federal government, an initiative the minister assured would be extended to other rural communities in the zone and which Oba Olaoye, upon learning, urged should be extended to Ogbomoso metropolis as well.
