BREAKING: Ogbomoso 132KVA station attacked by suspected armed robbers, TCN officers rush down from Ilorin

Vandals struck at the Ogbomoso 132KVA power substation located at Temidire/Ajeja along Ikirun Road. However, the local security guards at the station bravely thwarted the attempt.

According to sources the armed robbers numbering about six came fully armed and with various stools to cart away components at the station, which is yet to be energized but that the security guards rose to the occasion successfully warding them off. However, the suspects escaped.

One of the guards who however did not give his name and was reluctant to talk to the press confirmed the incident.
Some of the tools and equipment of the vandals were left as they bolted away.
Chiefs from the Palace of Soun of Ogbomosoland later visited to get first hand information. This is just as officials of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) from Ganmo station where Temidire power station will be connected also rushed down to Ogbomoso.

They reportedly commended the security guards while urging Ogbomoso community to continue to ensure adequate security of the station. They said the moment the transmission lines are hoisted it becomes the responsibility of the community to secure the items.

Recall ogbomosoinsightonline.com reported last week that TCN officials from Abuja came for foundation tests of the transmission towers at the station during which it was disclosed that before work could continue a “No objection certificate” needed to be issued to be processed by the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), which would convey approval by the federal government.
