“One day, irrespective of our status, we shall give an account of our work on this earth to our Maker,” Rev’d. Akindayo said.
He added that “this life is preparation for our eternity but many are living as if no one is watching them.”
The cleric lamented that we are in a generation that celebrates grace but ignores responsibility, explaining that to be responsible is to live a life of impact. “And upon all we shall stand before God in the day of judgement,” he declared.

This is as he urged the congregation to be conscious of certain facts including the certainty of accountability (Revelation 20: 11), the reality of the judgement seat with Jesus going to be the judge (John 5:22), the scope of what we will give account for (Matthew 12:36), the standard of judgement whether it is good or bad (1Cor 4:2) and the outcome of the judgement (1Cor 3:13).
He gave guidelines for a godly living, focused on heaven which included a plea to not waste one’s days, serving peacefully, guarding one’s tongue, checking one’s motives and determining to finish well.
Those who gave testimonies about the deceased described him as a jolly good fellow who related well with people.
His daughter stated, “Dad was always there with and for the people and whatever that happened at home he was always there.”
One of his friends also said he was a “good adviser and a very jovial person.”
