Soun, High Chiefs, prominent personalities highlight remembrance ceremony of Madam Adekola

Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III, his chiefs including the Areago, High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin, Iyalode, High Chief Rebecca Oluwakemi Ogundare as well as other prominent personalities were present as children and families of late Madam Marian Olaomo Adekola held a remembrance celebration for her, last Saturday (January 10).

A service at Methodist Church Cathedral Arowomole Ogbomoso and entertainment of guests at Seejet Event Centre Oke-Owode, were well attended both which demonstrated the high status of the family in the society.

 

Of Ogbomoso stock, born in 1933 to the family of late Pa Oladele of Ile Abina Idigba and late Mama Ogundayo Oladele of Ile-Bara Oba, Ijeru area of Ogbomoso, she got married to Pa Moses Oyelami Adekola of Ile-Jagun-Lagbedu, ljeru-Oja area of Ogbomoso, following which they relocated to Tamale, Ghana. She became a trader engaging in buying and selling, and also delved into bakery business at some point.

In 1962, the family moved back to Nigeria, taking up residence at Akerele Extension, Shitta area of Lagos state. Sadly however, her husband passed away in 1963 sequel to which she relocated to her hometown, Ogbomoso. she also had a brief stay in Ilorin. She remarried and was blessed with other kids.

 

She served in the household of God as a Methodist Church Cathedral, Arowomole, Ogbomoso, with devotion, and was a member of Egbe Afurungbin Rere.

 

She led a fulfilled life and passed away on November 10, 2024.
