A grand ceremonial party was held Saturday (November 22) to mark the one year remembrance of Pa Samson Ajani Akinfenwa, who transited November 15, 2024, at the age of 92. Late Pa Akinfenwa, from Adifagberu compound, Isale-Ora, Ogbomoso, Oyo state, was a laboratory technician of vast experience; he started his career as a laboratory technician at Baptist Hospital, Eku in the old Bendel state. He later got posted to Baptist Hospital, Kontagora in Niger state, and later Baptist Hospital (now Bowen University Teaching Hospital), Ogbomoso, where he retired in December 1985 as senior lab technician. However, Ireti-Olu Hospital, also in Ogbomoso, re-employed him and worked there till December 2002.

His children who spoke with INSIGHT CELEBRITY spoke glowingly of him, describing him as a “Marvelous father, who cared and loved his children exceedingly.” He was hailed as “humble, patient and as someone who had aversion for violence, as a unifying factor, principled, a rewarder of good deeds and who served God wholeheartedly. He was a member of Bible Society of Nigeria, BSN.”

The event began with a thanksgiving service at Shiloh Baptist Church (though he was a member of New Providence Baptist Church) and ended with a reception at Anglican Model College (AMCO), attended by who-is-who in the society.
