Rev’d Dr Olusegun Ige, Minister – in – Charge of the church during the funeral service similarly emphasized on salvation. He said after being physically born there must be a day of divine encounter with God.

He submitted in the sermon titled, “A journey through eternity,” that “You are born for a purpose. There is no mistake in your coming into the world. But after you were born there must be a day of encounter with God. You may be born into a Christian family, but that is being born into religion and so, you must encounter God. That is the only way you can be saved.”

Rev’d Ige further underlined the importance of being born in “water and spirit” asserting “it is the only way to entering the Kingdom of God.”

He charged on being faithful with whatever gift God grants individuals stressing no one could “escape the radar of God” and that “everyone would give account on the day of judgement.”

He was also desribed as a man of loyalty. “How do we begin to quantify or describe his unfeigned loyalty, and faithfulness to those he connected with and those who somehow connected with him.
