Family, associates heap encomiums on late Justice Adeniran at wake service – ‘Cheerful, accommodating, kind’

Tributes poured in Thursday (September 26), in honour of late Rt. Hon. Justice Afolabi Aremu Adeniran, former Chief Judge of Oyo state, as various testimonies flavoured the Christian Wake held at Masifa Baptist Church, Masifa area, Ogbomoso.

 

In separate testimonies wives of the deceased described him as “very lovely, kind, cheerful and accommodating and who never looked down on anybody be it illiterate or uneducated folks”

Also, the head of Maya family (late Adeniran’s family compound), Dn. Aremu, revealed that Justice Adeniran always preached for unity and oneness in the family, stressing that he ensured all the progeny of Agunbiade family unite while admonishing his children to be coming home.

 

Alhaj Monsur Ejide, in his tribute, expressed the deceased was his first lawyer in life stating that he played active role in defending him when a serious case ensued decades ago.

He added that Justice Adeniran’s contribution towards a land dispute between Bolanta family and his maternal family was immense and pivotal.

This is Alhaji Basiru Akatapa stated, “Hon. Adeniran was one of the founders of Masifa Progressive Union. He was always enthusiastic in rendering assistance to anyone and always ready to perform any task for the development of Ogbomoso.”

 

In his exhortation themed, “The purpose of existence,” with text from Luke Chapter 16 verses 19 to 25, Rev’d Dr Ebenezer of Goshen Baptist Church, Kuye area, noted everybody is born with a purpose and reason which must be fulfilled.

He declared: “No man of a woman is born for nothing. People have shared testimonies about the deceased though restricted because of time constraint. Baba played his part and will be remembered for long. That’s his purpose of existence.”

He further observed that serving humanity is a way of contributing to the work of God while advising people to give their life to Christ and love others. “Know Jesus, give your life to Christ, love others and love yourself and live a purposeful life that cannot be easily forgotten.”

 

Many dignitaries attended the event. The funeral service will hold today Saturday September 27 at the same venue while reception of guests will come up at the Viva Continental Event Centre Orogun area.

 

The obsequies started with a court session in Ibadan last week Thursday, held in his honour in his capacity as a former Chief Judge of Oyo state, while a public lecture was held Wednesday at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH.
