‘You are a pride of Ogbomoso,’ Methodist Bishop to Wolekanle at thanksgiving

The Bishop of the Methodist Diocese, Ogbomoso, Rt. Rev. Ademola Moradeyo, has described Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole a.k.a. Wolekanle as a proud of Ogbomosoland admonishing him not to disappoint in his new assignment.

Bishop Moradeyo disclosed this Sunday during a thanksgiving service held by Wolekanle in celebration of his 53rd birthday, dedication of a new house and appointment as chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, at the Arowomole Cathedral of Methodist Church of Nigeria.

 

“You are a pride of Ogbomoso you must continue to strive to better yourself in order not to disappoint people who trust you,” Rt. Rev’d Moradeyo said.

 

The Bishop also called on political office holders to always work within the vision of God for sustainable development and peace.

In a sermon titled, “Thy Kingdom Come,” with text from Matthew 6:9–16, Bishop Moradeyo emphasized that the Kingdom of God has the character of peacefulness and lack the challenges making harmony alien to the world, warning leaders to prioritize the happiness and well-being of their people.

 

He asserted those who fail in this wise would not escape divine judgment.

 

“It is important for those in positions of power to always tread the path of peace and ensure their actions are guided by God’s vision. Any leader who does not make the people happy will face the wrath of God,” he said.

 

While congratulating Bashorun Akinwole, Bishop Moradeyo expressed confidence that the appointment was a gateway to greater accomplishments, urging him not to betray the trust reposed in him by the people.

 

He however lamented that some politicians and rulers had failed in their responsibilities.

 

The man of God also commended the Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, saying he has surpassed records of good governance in the state.

 

“His numerous unprecedented policies have transformed Oyo state in the economic, infrastructural and several other sectors. The state is now more prosperous.”
