BREAKING: Baale Osupa Chieftaincy family withdraws suit on NBTS/BUTH land, hails Soun

The Baale Osupa Chieftaincy family of Ogbomoso Oyo state has at last withdrawn its suit challenging the ownership of the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary NBTS and Bowen University Teaching Hospital BUTH lands from court.
The case according to information reaching ogbomosoinsightonline.com was taken out of court Monday after the two parties the Nigerian Baptist Convention NBC (proprietor of the two institutions) and the Baale Osupa Chieftaincy family earlier reached agreement.

“It’s true, we have settled out of court,” Prince Oluwole Oladokun a.k.a. Jajalo, chairman of the family, informed Ogbomoso Insight.
“We came to the conclusion after an agreement was reached which encompasses concessions to our demands including naming monuments after our family in the institutions, giving our youth job quotas, free medical care for our elderly people among others.
“The two parties signed the withdrawal documents in the court today. On our side l signed as the chairman of the family. Others from our side are Prince Oyebisi Oyedokun, Prince Olusegun Oyelade and our legal counsel Adeeko Adefunmilola. And on their side the NBC Director of Finance, Deacon Abiodun and their lawyer, Bankole appended their signatures.”

He added the family would wait for the implementation of the agreement just as he said they would go to express gratitude to the Soun of Ogbomosoland His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege whom he said facilitated the truce.
Ogbomoso Insight recalls that the family instituted the suit after the expiration of the one hundred years lease agreement on the land. It claimed the land owned by the family was leased to the two Baptist institutions by their forefathers.
