Musical concert in remembrance of Ayanfe Jesu who died 10 yrs ago in accident holds today

A musical concert will today, Sunday May 5, hold at Saja Baptist Church Ogbomoso, to celebrate the 10th remembrance anniversary of a popular gospel musician, Evangelist Oluwakayode Adeniji, a.k.a. Ayanfe Jesu, who passed away on April 19, 2014.

He died from fatal injuries sustained after being knocked down by a vehicle at Owode area Ogbomoso while crossing the new expressway completed by (now) late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Ayanfe Jesu’s sudden death shook Ogbomoso as he was a fast rising star in the gospel music genre. He was in his forties.
It’s over ten years already that he met with such cruel fate.
Tagged, “Remembrance of an icon in music,” the concert is put together by Alula Gospel Music and Drum Int’l in conjunctions with Ayanfe Jesu Foundation Forum.
In a statement by Chief Kehinde Aworinde a.k.a. Alula Int’l, who founded Alula Gospel Music and Drum Int’l, and who was the deceased’s lead drummer, the concert is packaged “to remember an icon in the gospel music.”

Alula added the event would also be used to raise fund to support the family the deceased left behind revealing his wife, Dorcas, who has remained unmarried and two children, Adeola and David (who never knew his father as he was still in the womb at the time), seriously needed the assistance.
Alula, now in the Police Force, informed that aside his band, other groups and artistes would perform at the concert which would start 2pm including Association of Musicians in Ogbomoso, Saja Baptist Church Choir, C&S Reform Choir and CAC Majemu Oluwa Choir.
In a tribute, Alula wrote, “Your demise 10 years ago on a fateful Saturday after Good Friday was shocking.
“We were already basking in the euphoria of The Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ when a call came through that I should be coming to (BUTH). I was trying to decipher such emergency call but I couldn’t fathom what could have happened. I proceeded straight there. I got to the hospital and was told you gave up the ghost at Bowen University Teaching Hospital and your body had already been taken to the mortuary as a result of a ghastly accident after the event you had on Saturday of Easter 2014.

“We spoke on Good Friday and you told me we were having wedding event at Bethel Baptist Church Ogbomoso, the following week and at Osekun Hall Arowomole Ogbomoso, the rest is history.
“Job 14:1-2 (KJV) Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
“Your band, gospel artists in Ogbomoso and Nigeria at large recognised you.
“You lived a very short but memorable life!
“We know that surely we shall meet at the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ at the resurrection day.
“May your soul continue to have eternal rest, my boss.”
