Eid fitri: Soun greets Muslims

Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege 111, has congratulated Muslims across the world on the occasion of the Eid Fitri celebration which marks the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Muslim faithful held prayers across the world today following which celebrations will commence.

 

Oba Olaoye in a congratulatory message made available to ogbomosoinsightonline.com through the palace secretary, Mr. Toyin Ajamu, the Oba said, “Congratulations to all Muslim faithfuls around the world especially those in Ogbomosoland for the joyous occasion of Eid Fitri which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan where you people have dedicated yourselves to prayer, fasting and acts of charity.”

Observing Eid Fitri is not only a celebration of faith, the monarch stated, it is a “time to come together as a community, reinforcing the bonds of unity, love, and compassion that define our shared values. It is a moment to express gratitude for the blessings received and to remember less fortunate in the community.”

He urged them to imbibe the many lessons learned during the period and to allow such to continue to manifest in their lives, positing they lead to a better way of living.

 

“There are lots of lessons learned during this period of Ramadan which include self discipline, empathy and compassion, gratitude, spiritual reflection and self improvement, unity, resilience and patience, and reflection on divine guidance. It is important not to forget these lessons learned as they promote personal, social, and spiritual transformation, leading to a more compassionate, grateful and mindful way of living.”

 

Oba Ghandi prays, “May God accept your prayers, fasts, and acts of worship during Ramadan and bless you with his abundant mercy and blessings.”
