Baale in Ogbomoso docked for destroying farm, stealing soya beans

Oyo State police command have arraigned before a Magistrate court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, one Baale Oladapo Olayode (39 years), the Baale of Alaropo, Bolorunduro Village in Ogbomoso, alongside three others, namely Ogundare Gabriel (35 years), Adio Micheal (38 years), and Alao Adesina (45 years), for their alleged involvement in stealing and malicious damage on farmland belonging to one Olaniyi Aroni.

The accused are facing three count charge of conspiracy to commit felony (malicious damage and stealing), contrary to Section 516 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38, Vol II Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria 2000; malicious damage, contrary to Section 451 of the Criminal Code, Cap 38, Vol. II Laws of Oyo State, Nigeria 2000; and theft, contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 38, Vol. II, Laws of Oyo State of Nigeria. 2000.

The alleged offenses took place on the 16th day of November, 2023, at Bolorunduro Village, Alaropo, Oriire local government area in the Ogbomoso Magisterial district. It is claimed that the accused individuals conspired to steal and unlawfully damage a Soya beans plantation on 15 acres of land, valued at three million, five hundred thousand naira (#3,500,000), and maliciously destroyed economic trees valued at one million, five hundred thousand naira (#1,500,000), property of Olaniyi Aroni.

The case was meanwhile adjourned.
