BREAKING: Presentation of staff of office to two royal fathers suspended in Ogbomoso

The Oyo state ministry of local government and chieftaincy matters has put on hold the presentation of staff/instrument of office to Baale Ayegun and Baale Ijeru earlier scheduled for Thursday, February 1.

The suspension is conveyed in a letter dated January 30 titled, “Re: Approval of date of presentation of staff/instrument of office to the newly approved Baales in Ogbomoso South local government,” and signed by K.T. Aiki, Director, (Chieftaincy Matters), on behalf of Commissioner for the Ministry.

The letter cited legal cases instituted against the appointment of the new baales by rivals, informing the ceremony would be put on hold until the final determination of the litigation.
“I am directed to refer to your letter No.OGBS.206/T2/4 of 25th January, 2024 on the above subject matter and convey the approval of the Honourable Commissioner of Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters to you to inform Baale Ayegun and Baale Ijeru that their installation scheduled to hold on Thursday, 1 February has been suspended untill final determination of Suit Nos: HOG/17/2023 and HOG/24/2023 Instituted against them in Court of Justice in Ogbomoso.”
