Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has noted that the ascension to the throne of the Soun by His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III is fulfillment of God’s destiny for his life.

Pastor Adeboye who is guest preacher at the Coronation thanksgiving service of the new Soun, while delivering his exhortation at the well-attended programme held at Beulah Baptist Centre Ogbomoso, said that nobody in the world is without a purpose designed by God.

With text from Acts 15: 16 – 20 he asserted, “Nobody is in this world without a purpose,” referencing Jeremiah 1: 4 & 5 and 29: 11. Continuing he said, “There is something that is called destiny, before you were born that has been settled. Everything we see today has been settled before the foundation of the world.”

The revered cleric recalled how the then Pastor Ghandi came to him to seek spiritual guidance on the pressure on him to seek the throne and he advised him to pray and follow whatever is God’s direction.

He said many however chastised him for not dissuading him as a pastor but responding, Adeboye stressed, “But what if Adeboye says no and God says yes, who is going to have the final say?”

“There may be many devices in the heart of man but the purpose of God will prevail.” We have the example of Apostle Paul how he started his life we knew how he ended it.” he added.

Noting only God and the person can change the purpose of God for his life, he submitted, “God has a great plan for your life but if you do contrarily to his wish he will change his plan for your life and if he says he is changing his mind, go and sue him. We will see the lawyer or the judge that will sit on it.”

He also revealed how God brought to pass his childhood wish to become a clergyman after he saw the heroic welcome accorded an Anglican Bishop who came for a visit in his village – Ifewara in today’s Osun state in 1951.

He said though he grew to live a rough life but that the day he accepted the altar call was the day the purpose of God for his life began its manifestation while declaring, “If you want that destiny of God to be fulfilled, surrender your life to Jesus Christ today. That is why he brought you here today.”

Pastor Adeboye who recently disclosed he would like to die on a Sunday after a good pounded yam meal now addressed Oba Ghandi, “You being king is fulfillment of God’s purpose for your life,” urging him to live for Jesus Christ even as an Oba.

The new Oba was anointed after the cleric had given an altar call for salvation while a friend of the monarch Mr. Lanre Delana gave a special Coronation anthem in praise of God, on special request by Oba Ghandi.

The Coronation activities of the new Soun of Ogbomoso began Thursday with a N150m empowerment programme with the second day seeing Jumat service thanksgiving and a gala for golfers and on Saturday there was golf competition in the morning while traditionalists took the stage in the evening.

The presentation of staff of office by the Oyo state governor Engr. Seyi Makinde will come up on Tuesday, December 19 at Soun Stadium.
