The 9th edition of Mr. & Miss Ogbomoso Beauty Contest will hold on Sunday, December 17, at LSG Hotel.

According to a statement by the organizer Moga Media and Entertainment signed by Mike Adeolu, the event dubbed, “Orumogege Challenge: The Oba Ghandi Edition,” is “in honour of the new Soun, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege III.”
Unveiling the event the organizers note the beauty contest is unprecedented in the city in view of its central theme, which is “beauty and brain.”

“Mr. & Miss OGBOMOSHO CONTEST (better known as MOGA) happens to be the first of its kind in Ogbomoso.
“It is an annual event set to communicate the gospel of beauty and brain to the youth community, as well as to uphold the culture and heritage of the land.”
It further assures, “It promises to be mind boggling with loads of musical performances, comedy and many more.”
Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye’s coronation activities begin Thursday December 14 and will end on Tuesday December 19 with presentation of staff of office by the Oyo state governor Engr Seyi Makinde.
The new monarch was installed September 8, 2023, after the community had gone one year nine months without a traditional ruler aftermath the demise of former occupant Oba Oladunni Oyewumi Ajagungbade III exactly two years ago today December 12.
The beauty contest is being packaged as part of a private sector initiative to make the coronation event memorable and glamorous.
