Reynolds Construction Company (RCC) has assured that the Ogbomoso – Oyo section of the Ibadan – Ilorin new dual carriageway will be completed in about 4 months.

This was disclosed Saturday during a stop-over at the site by former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Chief Sunday Dare, while traveling through the road.

Disclosing what transpired, Rev’d Peter Olaleye, president of Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum (OCYF), who was in the entourage of the ex-minister, said a top management member of RCC on ground (name though not disclosed) assured the project would be completed soon.

Rev’d Olaleye said the RCC topnotch made the disclosure while responding to a question posed by Sunday Dare as to when the project would likely be completed.

“Two months, three months?” Dare had reportedly asked.

“Very soon,”the RCC officer had retorted, according to Olaleye.

Further investigations by ogbomosoinsightonline.com meanwhile revealed a 4 – month time frame on the condition that “fund release is not delayed.”

The source maintained if the remaining fund is released there is nothing stopping the project to be completed in four months’ time.

The source added, “Now that we have rain stopping and with the onset of the dry season the work will go faster.

”I want to assure that if fund is not withheld we should be rounding off in about 4 months.”

Ogbomoso Insight reported last week that earthwork had reached The Apostolic Church Grammar School axis and that asphalt laying was nearing Agric/Owolaake.

Recall the contract for the construction was awarded in 2001 by the federal government and while the Ogbomoso – Ilorin and Ibadan – Oyo sections were completed in early 2010s, that of Ogbomoso – Oyo suffered delay.

Hopefully, the end of the project would now be witnessed.
