He excelled in Home Econs, proud of him, Anglican Gram Sch says of Tope Maggie, as he passes 165 hrs

Anglican Grammar School, Ogbomoso, Oyo state, has expressed delight at the feat of Chef Tope Maggie who is attempting to set a new record in Guinness World Record (GWR) cook-a-thon category.

Recall Tope Maggie began his quest Thursday last week (November 9) at Ogbomoso Recreation Club and has set an ambitious 200 hours for himself to cook non-stop. He has now gone 165 hours as at the time of filing this report, well above the 119 hours 57 minutes set by Alan Fisher, an Irish recently.

His feat has triggered a lot of enthusiasm with many going to the venue to show solidarity and motivate him to remain tenacious.

Students and teachers of Anglican Grammar School, Ogbomoso, where Chef Maggie passed out were led to the venue Thursday morning by the incumbent principal, Mr. Abiodun Olowe, to identify with him and motivate him.

“It is compulsory for us as a school myself being an old student of Anglican Grammar School to come and identify with Tope Maggie because he graduated from Anglican Grammar School,” Mr. Olowe said, while speaking with ogbomosoinsightonline.com.

“He was one of our best students then in Home Economics and because I am the principal of the school and the first alumnus to be principal of the school we deemed it fit to identify with him in this area where he is proving his worth.”

He expressed joy and surprise at his exploit saying, “I am really surprised he is able to attain this feat, to go this far. I am happy with what I have been hearing about his efforts and that is why I said I must come here with my students to cheer him up, to encourage him, on behalf of the old students of the school and on behalf of all the present students.”

Encouraging the young ones to be focused he charged, “I want to charge the youths to try to prove themselves to achieve greatness. Whatever talent is given to you, don’t hide them. Tope is doing wonders in his own field because he is able to prove his worth. What many women cannot attempt he is doing and excelling in it.”

Mrs. Alagbe Florence of Home Economics department of the school who also enthused about the feat said they decided to bring students of Food and Nutrition to the venue to encourage them submitted “It is an educational programme to motivate our Food & Nutrition students. Moreover, Tope also passed through the department and so we want to encourage them so they can do exploits in life too in diverse ways.”

For Mr.V.T. Akinfenwa, also a teacher in the school, “Tope Maggie is doing something great. We are here to motivate him to lift his spirit. If he emerges new GWR holder I will feel very very happy because if someone is determined to do something and he works towards it it is worth commending.”

This is as Mr.Demola Adeyemo, another teacher in the entourage said, “I am happy being an old student and now a teacher of Anglican Grammar School and here is another old student doing well. Upcoming students should emulate his spirit so they can perform wonders too, they should sit tight in their academics and make hay while the sun shine.”

An SS 2 student of Food and Nutrition, Oloyede Fikayo, stated, “I am so happy to be here. It encourages me to do well in life too.”
