Massive boost for Tinubu as Yoruba Community in 11 states outside SW declares support

The presidential bid of Senator Bola Tinubu received a massive boost Friday as the Yoruba Community in South Eastern and South Southern parts of Nigeria declares its support for him and his vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shettima, former governor of Borno state.

This was the outcome of a leadership summit of the group held Friday in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers state, attended by representatives from the South South states of Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Delta, Cross River, Edo, Bayelsa and the five South East states of Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi and Imo.

In a communique signed by Professor Isaac Ayandele Agbomojo (president-general), Chief Bright Alabi and Hon Wole Agunbiade, (secretary-general), it was asserted that  Asiwaju Tinubu’s antecedent makes him the best to assume the presidency in 2023, noting that the former Lagos state governor actually laid the foundation for the economic buoyancy the Pace-Setter State enjoys today and the state becoming choice destination.

Furthermore, the groups praises the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flagbearer for what it describes as his uncanny ability to spot talents and nurture same to usefulness.

“His antecedent is there for all to see. His legacy in Lagos as governor laid the foundation of what that state is today and this has continued to make it the destination for all Nigerians,” the group notes.

“Tinubu can equally be described as an astute leader with the knack for identifying and developing talents. The list of people he has identified and mentored is there for all to see. No political leader in the country has done what Tinubu has done in this regard.”

The president-general of the group, Ayandele, who was Special Adviser Efficiency Unit to former Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, admonished Nigerians against peddling of rumours or taking in hook, line and sinker the lies being bandied by opponents against Tinubu especially on his health remarking, “the little we have seen of Tinubu has clearly shown he is up to the task.

“Moreover, the health and life of any individual is in the hands of the Almighty God.”

Among those in atendance are Oba Oladeji Musibau Ajadi, Oba Yoruba Community of Owerri; Alhaji Kayode Oyekunle, Vice President Yoruba Community, Akwa Ibom state; Pa Ade Johnson Adeyelu, Head of the Yoruba Community in Enugu state; Alhaja Azeezat Jimoh, Women Leader. Abia state;  and Bashorun Adedeji, Leader Yoruba Community, Abia state .
